Power Adhesives Tecbond 420 Sprayable Hot Melt Glue Slugs
Tecbond 420 General-Purpose Sprayable Hot Melt Glue Slugs
Power Adhesives Tecbond 420 is a polyolefin-based adhesive engineered for use with spray applicators to provide consistent coverage across large surface areas. These 1 3/4" (43mm) hot melt glue slugs offer a dependable, general-purpose bonding solution for foam, fabric, bubble film, and most plastics excluding polyethylene.
Primarily formulated for spray application, Tecbond 420 can also be extruded as a controlled bead when more precise placement is required. Designed for professional assembly and trade environments, this adhesive provides a three-minute open time that supports accurate positioning before compression. In spray mode, the adhesive cools rapidly on contact, reducing the risk of damage to heat-sensitive materials while producing a bond that is stronger than traditional bead-only application methods.
Tecbond 420 Hot Glue Slug Performance Advantages
- Dual Application Flexibility: Designed for spray application with the ability to be extruded as a bead for targeted bonding when required.
- Extended Open Time: The three-minute working window supports precise positioning of substrates prior to compression without premature loss of tack.
- Heat Sensitive Bonding: Rapid cooling upon extrusion helps prevent melting or burning of delicate materials such as foam and bubble film.
- Versatile Coverage: Spray application provides wide-area coverage and can replace nails and tacks for carpet, skirting boards, and stair nosing.
- Thermal Insulation Security: Tested and approved to UL 2395 standards for securing insulation in heating and ventilation appliances.
- FDA Compliance: Meets FDA 175.105 requirements for indirect food contact applications.
